The Duel Rules & Regulations
General Rules
- To play on The Duel courts during approved times, all members, guests, and non-members must register online or with an attendant before play begins.
- Members must be at least 18 years of age.
- Children under 18 may only use the courts if a parent or guardian has signed the Rules and Regulations and Waiver.
- To ensure a comfortable and inclusive environment for all, please use appropriate language and respectful communication with those around you inside the building. Playing unauthorized or inappropriate music, or exhibiting loud and disruptive behavior, may result in the forfeiture of court time and suspension of privileges. Removal of any property of The Duel is prohibited.
- Smoking, vaping, and alcohol are strictly prohibited on the premises.
- The Duel Management has the authority to create and implement policies to address behaviors that violate standards of appropriate conduct.
- Members are responsible for the timely payment of all fees. Management may enforce a policy for fees that are not paid when due.
- Please note that the organization reserves the right to modify or amend its rates, hours of operation, operating procedures, and court reservation rules at any time. Changes to annual membership rates will be communicated to members with 30 days' prior written notice.
- Return all equipment used (balls, rackets, paddles, birdies, etc.) to the storage room. If you notice any damage or missing equipment, promptly inform the The Duel team before your reservation or event ends.
- To ensure safety and sanitation, no food or open liquids on the court. Liquids must be contained in appropriate, non-breakable containers with lids secured.
- Clean up after yourself and leave the courts in better condition than you found it. Trash bins are provided on the premises, do not litter.
- In open play and drop-in events, exercise consideration for others. Respect any queue and rotation guidelines set by the event host.
- The Duel and its associated entities (including owners, subsidiaries, affiliates, officers, managers, and employees) are not responsible for any lost or stolen belongings of members, guests, or other non-members on the premises.
- To ensure all players have a chance to enjoy the courts, please be courteous and exit the court promptly when your reserved time ends. If courts are open and you wish to extend your play, you can book more time through The Duel’s reservation system before your reservation ends. Overstaying your reservation will result in an “Infraction Fine” which is equivalent to an additional hour of court time.
- Non-members utilizing the facility during designated periods, without a member's accompaniment, will incur a different rate as determined by The Duel.
- Members and guests hereby acknowledge and assume all inherent risks of participating, including, without limitation, the risk of serious injury, illness, disability, or death resulting from, among other things, injury, unconsciousness, stroke, heart attack, or other medical emergency or event, and further acknowledge that The Duel has no duty to respond to or provide assistance for such medical issues or emergencies.
- The Duel facility users may not bring animals (except service animals) into the Pickleball facilities or leave them unattended. Any patron entering the Pickleball facility with a service animal must carry a doggy bag with them at all times.
Court Dress Code
- All players must wear comfortable and appropriate exercise attire while playing. Going shirtless on the courts or around the facility is not allowed.
- Proper court shoes with non-marking soles must be worn on the court at all times. No street shoes, open-toed shoes, cleats, or bare feet are allowed. Black-soled shoes are generally prohibited, with the exception of black-sole running shoes. We require that all members, guests, and players wear court shoes to reduce the risk of injury. We reserve the right not to allow a member or guest to access the playing area if that person is not wearing proper tennis or pickleball shoes.
Rules for Unattended Hours
- During unattended hours (when The Duel attendant is not present), members are fully responsible for their guests. Guests are only permitted to use The Duel facilities during these hours if they have agreed to these Rules and Regulations and the Waiver, and are accompanied by the sponsoring member at all times. Members must book court time, pay all associated court fees (including guest fees), and ensure their guests agree to all Rules and Regulations and the Waiver prior to accessing The Duel facility. Members agree to indemnify The Duel for any liability arising from their guest’s presence. Members will be held fully responsible if their guests access The Duel’s facilities without having signed and agreed to these Rules and Regulations and the Waiver.
Reservations & Cancellations & Training
- Members can reserve up to 14 days in advance. Non-members can reserve up to 7 days in advance.
- Players are responsible for monitoring their court time and vacating the court at the reservation’s conclusion (1 or 2-hour duration), regardless of match progress.
- Any monthly membership can be canceled for any reason at any time by submitting a Membership Change Request with 30-day advanced notice. Members must provide their first and last names. Please also provide the reason for the cancellation request. If the member chooses to reactivate the canceled membership at any time, they will be required to pay the monthly rate offered at the time of reactivation.
- To ensure everyone gets a fair chance to play, we kindly ask that cancellations be made in accordance with our membership terms and conditions, which require advance notice. Please note that late cancellations or no-shows will be subject to a charge equal to the full reservation amount.
- All memberships are non-refundable; credits can be applied to future services.
- Players are not allowed to book more than 1 court at the same time.
- Late Payments: A $20 late fee is applied to any delayed payments for training fees or court reservations.
- Monthly fee will be charged to the card on file each month on the same date.Please ensure card on file is most up to date. A $10 late fee will be applied for late payment.
- The class fees for both group and private classes are not refundable, transferable or shareable between parties.
- If you cancel within 48 hours of a session’s start time, you will be charged in full for the session regardless of a replacement player being found. In exceptional circumstances, the cancellation charge may be waive by the club organizers. If you fail to attend a session, which you are confirmed on, without informing us, you will lose your next confirmed session, and be charged for the session you didn’t attend.
- In the rare case of class cancellations due to unforeseen circumstances (such as coach unavailability, venue closure, etc.), we will: a) Offer an alternative batch or reschedule the session. b) If rescheduling is not possible, the corresponding session fee may be refunded.
- Players arriving more than 15 minutes late without notice may forfeit their booking, and the slot may be given to walk-in players.
- Group or coaching session cancellations require 48hours’notice for a full refund or reschedule.
If you cancel or withdraw before completing your agreed term, a charge equal to one month’s fee will apply.
